Summary

Sometimes a home needs several repairs at once. This project in Kirkwood involved replacing an over-the-range microwave, resolving a GFCI circuit issue, installing a new hardwired smoke alarm, and recaulking a bathtub. The homeowner needed all these tasks addressed efficiently to restore everyday convenience and safety.

The Work

Removed old microwave, verified the opening, and installed a new over-the-range unit after adapting the vent opening
Traced and reset a tripped GFCI breaker, ensuring the kitchen outlet worked and marking the correct circuit
Replaced a non-functioning hardwired smoke alarm and tested the new installation
Removed deteriorated bathtub caulking and applied fresh bathroom-rated sealant
Performed general cleaning, including behind appliances moved during service

The Outcome

With these repairs completed, the kitchen and bathroom are back to working order. Safety features like the smoke alarm and GFCI are functioning as intended, and the space looks cleaner and more cared for.
